I agree with wezhira uyu. It aint easy being Zimbabwean in another country. We have the necessary resources and abundant skill to lift Zimbabwe right out of the mud to the top of the african map. I personally have learnt a lot of things and I have a lot of ideas on how to get out of this situation bar the politics. We have seen other countries employing technocrats to high positions and they are changing the face of provinces. I am working for the Gauteng Department of Transport, Roads and Works currently. I got employed because they realised political appointments have no technical skill to turn around the economic landscape. Gauteng right now is the only province in Africa that has an economic growth factor of note even in these trying times. If our political leaders can c that the way forward is to employ the expertise of people like myself and a whole lot of others who have been working day in day oput for other countries, we will make the world cry when our economy starts regulating itself.

Can you start a new entry addressing the possibility of holding dual citizenship. Right now a lot of Zimbabweans who have good jobs elsewhere have little to no incentive in risking their current positions (except for the love of the country) by return to an unstable employment market/government which has done almost nothing right now to guarantee employment and good salaries. Dual Citizenship allows people the option to leave freely without persecution minus the land redistribution nightmares of late 90s early 2000s.

You make a good point and of course Zimbabwe needs our taxes - but we still think that people who left Zim WITHOUT putting their tax affairs in order, should be given tax amnesty and a clean slate, so they do not get prosecuted the minute they get home. (Although outstanding tax calculations of several billion dollars wouldn't be much to pay, the penalties would still apply - in some cases, jail - and nobody wants to land up there!!!).

The tax directive would apply to self-employed persons. Normal sales tax and PAYE would apply immediately to anyone buying items or getting a salary.

thats where we get it wrong. if you are from diaspora you had more ways of making money. you should contribute to your country more. when you are not ready to come back home then do not. I dont agree with it. what amnesty are we suposed to hold. Its better to get 12months tax free salaries from countries in which we are moving from. Our contry is being robbed the same way you want "to come-home". so where is the help then? its why they says "Zimbabweans dont know how to make their economy beter". you pay high taxes in diaspora because they know thats what makes them strong. In return you steal from your own country- no. Pay taxes to Zimbabwe to make it rich and monitor the funds.

citizenship right was designed to identify where you belong, under the same right to travel "anywhere". howe-ever in any case the state with greater monitory forex value controls the weaker. this 'citizenship thing' has led to so many conflicts and wars. why is it that if you have a british or american citizenship you have the rights to travell to any country without questions. they set rules they dont abide to. remember britsh are saying "british jobs for british" people. but they are not saying "british jobs for british citizens". they are clever they know it. unfortunately the majority fail to realise it. i do not agree with "dual citizenship" only a person who can stand on own eye can convenence me. Wake-Up Zimbabwe. "musadyiwa makasvinura" pepukayi muone. vasingadi zvavo ikodzero dzavo. if you are asked to pick a donkey from your flock, you do not pick a mule. "pamberi nevana veZimbabwe" remember Zimbabeans, your finger prints are all over their data-base but non of theirs is in yours by the same laws they say "its to catch criminals"-you-. so you are already charged. I do not want dual citizenship in my country. FORGET ABOUT IT. ITS MY COUNTRY. ITS EITHER YOU ARE IN OR YOU ARE OUT? if ihad powers i would abolish 'dual citizenship' fron printg in dictionaries so it does not even exixst. that would avoid confussion

coming home "preps" was always the original plan for most of us. unfortunately as we did not have an insight of falling into the systems of "voluntary slavery". you get paid through the right and the net salaries fall through the left. unfortunately not all of us intent to for variuos reasons. as they in shona "kwadzinorohwa matumbu ndiko kwadzino manyira". people do not realise the root problem but only the effect is felt. diaspora caused it to benefit for the last loot. so the best way is to say no by protecticg our resourses and reduce exports now until such a time western countries come to ask transparently from zimbabwe. no zimbawean is welcome now in any country. Zimbawe belongs to Zimbabweans and is being sold by Zimbabweans. lets put our house in order first. westerners shall continue to suck our resourses till we play to their own tune. exports are still functioning right now in Zimbabwe but "where" are they investing it? ban all the xports for now rather accumulate for a certain period or pay the correct taxes to the government then manage the monies fairly. "ngatisaitai sezvitsere zvino mora uchi hwemumhango husingachewuki pauno gadzika makudo achinonga. wake-up and see. wake-up and see Zimbabwe.
